Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT)

Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) is Donegal’s Institute of Technology. With 5,000 students, 54 CAO Programmes ranging from Level 6 to Level 8, state-of-the-art campuses and a vibrant campus feel, it’s no wonder that more and more students than ever before are choosing LYIT. In fact, in 2020 we recorded our highest ever first year student numbers!

LYIT has two campuses, one located in Letterkenny and one in Killybegs. LYIT has three Faculties–Faculty of Business; Faculty of Engineering & Technology; Faculty of Science & Health. Within the three Faculties, there are ten departments and they are:

Accommodation in the region is affordable and plentiful:

• €40-€45 per week will get a student a room in a house share in the region
• €80 per week will get a student a room in purpose built student accommodation (campus style)
